Katharina Gmachl, the daughter of the family, passed her exams in kitchen and service at the Bad Hofgastein Tourism School with flying colors in mid-June. She impressed the examiners with a four-course menu she had created herself. Kathi also demonstrated her skills in service, ensuring a thoroughly successful exam performance. The entire family is overjoyed and visibly proud of this fantastic achievement!

On March 16, 2026, we had the pleasure of welcoming Priscilla Presley (ex-wife of music legend Elvis Presley) to our hotel. She told Ms. Gmachl that she felt “at home” with us and thoroughly enjoyed her stay in Salzburg at Austria’s oldest family-run hotel.
She especially praised our Kaiserschmarrn (shredded pancake). Priscilla Presley impressed us above all with her open and warm personality – a very likeable woman who speaks honestly about her life.
