Hard to believe, but true nonetheless: The history of our hotel goes back all the way to 1334, making the Romantik Spa Hotel Elixhauser Wirt one of Austria’s oldest family businesses. For generations, the Elixhauser Wirt has been looking after guests and friends from near and far. Michaela Gmachl, landlady at the Elixhauser Wirt today, is the 23rd generation of her family to run the hotel. She took over from her parents Theresia and Fritz Gmachl and has since run the business with vision, experience, and a great deal of charm.

“Attention to detail and authentic, warm hospitality” are the principles of landlady Michaela Gmachl, who has quite literally grown up in the hotel business. “We want our guests to feel at home at the Romantik Spa Hotel Elixhauer Wirt and to see it as a haven of peace and relaxation”, she adds. Michaela Gmachl is the 23rd generation of her family to run the hotel. She took over the reins from her parents Theresia and Fritz Gmachl and today runs the 4-Star Superior hotel near Salzburg with a great deal of personal charm.
